Oleg Novachuk, Chief Executive Officer, said: “Operational management have performed exceptionally well to meet the challenges of 2009. At the start of the year we reduced ore output by suspending high cost operations and we anticipated cathode production of 300 kt. The successful focus on operational efficiency and the use of stockpiled material has allowed us to comfortably exceed this target, with final production of 320 kt. In 2010 ore output will be maintained at a similar level to 2009 and the target for cathode production will therefore again be just over 300 kt.”
