OREANDA-NEWS. February 04, 2010. Ingosstrakh OJSIC will cover all costs for treatment of a client who suffered from a poisonous snake bite in Indonesia in the framework of insurance policy for people going abroad. As provided for in the insurance contract, the medical costs amount is 15,000 USD, insurance sum according to the accident insurance policy is 1,000 USD.

After Alexey Kalabin was admitted to the clinic of Denpasar, Ingosstrakh service center, Coris Company informed the clinic about coverage of the costs for treatment of the patient at the expense of the insurance company and required medical report and invoice. The problem related to settlement of financial matters appeared because the clinic, to which A. Kalabin was admitted, did not have any contract with Coris Company, and the patient could not be transferred to another clinic because of his grave condition. In order to provide medical care, on January 30 the Coris service center involved its partner – the Thai service center AAP Asia Assistance Partners which was also engaged in settlement of this case and provided payment guarantees to the clinic. On February 2 Coris Company repeatedly sent by fax the indemnity letter regarding payment for treatment to the clinic. Medical report of February 2 was received by Ingosstrakh with statement that Mr. Kalabin had been medically examined and all necessary tests taken, the treatment was continued. The decision regarding undertaking medical procedures was taken by the attending physician. At the time of report preparation the patient was in reanimation. Presently the financial matter has been entirely settled.

Ingosstrakh OJSIC maintains regular contact with the service center, clinic and injured person’s daughter. Ingosstrakh will cover costs for treatment in amount of the insurance sum as provided for in the insurance contract immediately after the invoice is received from the clinic. Depending on the medical condition a decision will be taken concerning the retrieval of A. Kalabin to Russia.
