OREANDA-NEWS. February 09, 2010. Duty-free shops might resume their work in Belarus on July 1, 2010, State Border Troops Committee Chief Igor Rachkovski told reporters.

“The Customs Union does not rule out these shops, therefore they will start working in some form. At the present time they work as regular shops and sell Belarusian goods,” Rachkovski said.

“We believe duty-free shops should be state-owned. There used to be illegal imports of commodities from such shops,” he said.

At the present time, only Minsk airport duty-free shops work in Belarus
