OREANDA-NEWS. February 12, 2010. Representatives of Honeywell (USA), one of the manufacturing leaders of automation and control systems, have visited E4-SibCOTES to discuss issues of bilateral cooperation aimed at carrying out large-scale projects in Russia.

Honeywell Corporation is recognized for its solutions in the aerospace industry, technologies for building and industrial facilities maintenance, its turbochargers, and is also known as a leading automotive supplier. Honeywell Process Solutions has over four decades of experience in the power industry, and along with the latest in control system technology, Honeywell provides advanced control solutions designed specifically for power.

Honeywell high-tech solutions for power generation were presented in E4-SibCOTES by Simeon Belorechki, a representative from the European Department located in Bulgaria. He focused on his job as a Commissioning and Start-Up Manager at the Maritsa-Vostok 2 TPP, where he managed the project of power facilities automation on the ‘turn-key’ basis.

E4-SibCOTES has already used Honeywell equipment for developing its technical and commercial offers. In 2006, engineers performed pre-commissioning, commissioning and start up at Fria TPP (Republic of Guinea), where Honeywell distributed control system was supplied. According to Denis Krutilin, Head of Automation Control Systems and Metrology Department, Honeywell equipment could not only be compared in its quality to other world manufacturers\' automatic process control systems but it also features a number of advantages, including price ones.

Some cutting edge technologies of the American Corporation which were presented by Mr.Belorechki, generated a keen interest among E4-SibCOTES’ engineers. Special mention must be made of Advanced Combustion Control Optimizer that can ensure combustion closely below emission limits and on available maximum of thermal efficiency, and a pressure regulator that ensures continuous boiler and turbine operation.

At the meeting the decision was made that an E4-SibCOTES’ engineer would take part in the Honeywell training programme in Moscow.
