OREANDA-NEWS. February 12, 2010. The Council of Rolling Stock Operators is a nonprofit organization that unites Russian private operators in order to work to improve the legal, economic and technological foundations of rolling stock operation.

Freight One’s representatives in the council will take part in developing a model of the rail transport market and prepare proposals for the reform of legislation affecting the sector.

"It’s no accident that Freight One supported the initiative to establish this non-profit partnership. We have an interest in the formation of competitive relations in the rail freight market and the emergence of effective mechanisms to regulate the market. Eventually, the partnership may be converted into a self-regulatory organization, which will assume the functions of state bodies regulating the market of rolling stock operators," said Freight One General Director Salman Babayev.

"The accession of Freight One is a watershed event for the partnership because the company controls a large share of the market," said Sergey Maltsev, Chairman of the Presidium of the Council. "It is evidence of strengthened relations with Freight One and raises the status of the partnership".
