OREANDA-NEWS. February 18, 2010. Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Anand Sharma today expressed confidence that the bilateral cooperation between India and Russia in trade and other areas will continue to register healthy growth.

During his meeting with Sergei Sobyanin, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia and Victor Khrihtenko, Minister of Industry and Trade Russia, Anand Sharma referred to the strategic relationship that exists between the two countries.

In the framework of the agreement, Russia and India are going to collaborate in telecommunications, which is nominated as one of the most prospective branches for both countries by Sobyanin. GLONASS will be one of the spheres of cooperation, Sobyanin states.

“We are in process preparing an agreement to establish a joint venture which will maintain joint production of GLONASS navigation devices”, Sobyanin says.
