According to the Chem-Courier agency, Russian stirol producers, Salavatnefteorgsintez, Nizhnekamskneftekhim, and Sibur-Khimprom, have scaled up output of stirol in January by 4% y-o-y to 46,900 tons. Output of the product has specifically increased 14% at Salavatnefteorgsintez and 7% at Nizhnekamskneftekhim and Sibur-Khimprom each. Other companies in the sector have cut output.

The production upturn reported by Salavatnefteorgsintez and Nizhnekamskneftekhim is indicative of resurgent demand for their products and should have positive effects on their FY 2010 financials.
