OREANDA-NEWS. March 05, 2010. The bilateral Turkmen-Georgian inter-MFA consultations were held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan in the framework of the visit of the Georgian delegation led by Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Nalbandov to Ashgabat.

Thanking for the heartfelt welcome the head of the Georgian delegation said that Georgia was highly interested in enhancing bilateral cooperation with Turkmenistan – the country with the profound economic potential demonstrating an extremely constructive approach to international partnership. In this context Alexander Nalbandov said that the Government of Georgia fully supported President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s international initiatives aimed at developing new approaches to cooperation on the world arena.

The meeting participants expressed satisfaction with the high dynamics of bilateral relations based on traditional cultural and historical contacts between the two friendly nations discussed a wide range of the issues relating to enhancing and intensifying Turkmen-Georgian cooperation. Evaluating highly the existing profound potential of trade and economic partnership the representatives of the Turkmen and Georgian foreign ministers identified the concrete steps to implement it. The talks focused on humanitarian cooperation, particularly in the sphere of education and science.
