OREANDA-NEWS. March 9, 2010. In December 2009, following an inspection by the Russia’s state alcohol regulator carried out at our Saint-Petersburg distribution center, over 27 thousand bottles of strong sprits (mostly vodka) produced by RORO Ltd were deemed illegal and were detained. The counterfeit nature of the products was reconfirmed in January 2010 by the State expertise, when the stickers used to delineate all strong alcohol beverages sold in Russia, on this particular consignment were determined as being forged.

Following a claim sent to the Arbitration Court of Saint Petersburg and Leningrad region by the Federal Service for Alcohol Market Regulation requesting to revoke ZAO DIXY Petersburg alcohol wholesale license, starting from today this license is suspended and all counterfeit products are confiscated.

The fault for all and any counterfeit alcohol beverages found at our distribution centre in Saint-Petersburg rests solely with our supplier of these products. We are currently seeking a full compensation from the supplier for the confiscated products.

Dixy Group is cooperating with the State’s Regulator and has already provided all available to it information about the producer and the distributor of these alcohol beverages.

Suspension of the ZAO DIXY Saint-Petersburg’s wholesale alcohol license will not result in shortages of strong alcohol at Dixy stores. In the North-West region all new shipments will be routed through the Central region warehousing facilities and some deliveries will be made directly to our stores.

Dixy Group will undertake all prescribed legal steps to remedy the situation in Saint Petersburg and to recuperate its right to distribute alcohol in the region.
