OREANDA-NEWS. March 10, 2010. A regular session of working group on listing of infrastructural projects offered for financing within the framework of the Karelia program of cross-border cooperation between the Russian Federation and European Community was held in the Ministry of Construction. The session was conducted by Valery Momotov, the Assistant to the Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Karelia and the Minister of Construction,

The list of infrastructural objects has been endorsed by the Head of Karelia and passed to him. Upon its consideration Head of the Republic Sergey Katanandov has charged to include construction of treatment facilities in Medvezhiegorsk and Pudozh in the List as possible projects. Thus, totals 13 projects, mostly of cross-border character. All of them are directed on environment preservation, development of tourism, modernization of objects of housing and communal services, increase of traffic safety and will promote solutionof corresponding tasks in social and economic sphere of the republic.

The list consists of two paragraphs which include projects with high probability of co-financing from the funds of the program and reserve projects (feasible, but in the long-run).

Projects feasible in the long-run include construction of water intake and a modular boiler-house on local fuel in two northern settlements, construction of recreation sites and installation of routing orientation signs along one of the frontier highways and other objects.
