OREANDA-NEWS. March 11, 2010. 188 parking garages will have been built in Moscow by the third quarter of 2010 within the Narodnyy Garazh program.

The program launched last year is to solve a severe shortage of parking spaces in Moscow. City authorities promised to erect 198 car parks for 74,000 vehicles in 2009 and intended to add another 425 parking facilities for 155,000 vehicles in 2010. The sale of parking spaces developed within the Narodnyy Garazh program started on 15 February 2010.

“73 car parks will be commissioned in the first quarter of 2010, 80 – in the second and 35 – in the third,” a source from City Hall specified.

According to the official, as the project declarations have begun being published, it is now possible to attract Moscow residents to enter into an agreement of share participation in the development of such parking facilities. Due to this agreement, the sharer will become an owner of the parking space when it is commissioned.
