OREANDA-NEWS. March 15, 2010. National Electricity Regulatory Commission agreed to the resolution of the Board of Ukraine’s Wholesale Electricity Market (WEM) on the necessity to provide TPPs with the minimum coal stocks amounting to 40 thou. tons in March.

In October- December 2009, the WEM Board and NERC recommended to have at least 140-200  thou. tons of coal at TPPs. But on the contrary, the Cabinet of Ministers’ measures resulted in coal deficit in the country and reduction of its stocks at TPPs. Thus, Energy Company of Ukraine NJSC has recently stated that Ugol Ukrainy SE cannot provide generating companies with coal.
