OREANDA-NEWS. March 15, 2010. In 2009 KAMAZ Inc. became the leader among enterprises of Russia’s automobile industry in development of its Production System and implementation of Toyota’s principles.

On 15 January this news was announced by Yury Klochkov, First Deputy Director General – CEO of KAMAZ Inc. at a press conference devoted to the results of 2009 and prospects of the company’s production development in 2010.

Changes in the company’s management structure, logistics, purchasing and quality management systems became the most significant corporate projects for the further development of KAMAZ’s Production System (PS) in 2009. The reforms in the sphere of production organization were the result of radical changes in the company’s activities, including a great expansion of the model line of the basic production, KAMAZ trucks, to 2000 modifications and versions. During 2010 all launched projects will be fulfilled.

The measures within the bounds of KAMAZ’ PS development and already implemented projects helped to gain an economic effect of 1.6 billion roubles.

According to Yury Klochkov, in 2010 a special attention will be paid to rebuilding of the production management system, particularly in the sphere of taking and fulfilling customers’ orders.

The company adopts a great experience of its strategic partner Daimler AG in development of the purchasing system. The purchasing system of the German concern is considered to be the most developed and effective one in Europe.

Improvement of the quality management system and improvement of quality of the produced goods is the main aim in 2010. In this connection, Yury Klochkov made special mention of enterprises established jointly with the leading world producers on KAMAZ’s production basis. KNORR-BREMSE KAMA JV became the best JV among them in 2009.

KAMAZ will continue realizing projects for development of its production basis within the limits of its Production System. In Yury Klochkov’s opinion, a cab assembly department of the automobile plant already meets the strictest European requirements
