OREANDA-NEWS. March 17, 2010. Belarus’ imports of beer increased 11.6% on the year in January 2010 to 598,453 decaliters, amounting to USD 2.945 million, up 7.5% in value terms, according to customs statistics.

“In January, nearly all imports were from Russia and Ukraine, with almost equal shares. Supplies rose about 10% on the year,” a beer market expert told.

Russian beer imports went up 10.9% on the year in January to 1.683 million decaliters worth USD 1.683 million, up 3.3%, while Ukrainian beer imports increased 9.4% to 272,076 decaliters to the amount of USD 1.077 million, up 8.9%.

Imports of Czech beer reached 3,084 decaliters, up 51.1%, worth USD 71,100, up 72.6%. Imports from Lithuania increased 22.8 times to 8,709 decaliters worth USD 79,000, up 11.8 times, and from Germany reached 1,161 decaliters, up 91.1%, worth USD 35,100, up 93.9%.
