OREANDA-NEWS. March 22, 2010. In 2010, IES-Holding plans to invest RUB 251 million in its purpose program of boiler equipment upgrading. This program encompasses nine power plants in three power generation divisions of the Company: Kirov CHPP-5, Yoshkar-Ola CHPP, Perm CHPP-14, Perm CHPP-9, Ivanov CHPP-3, Ivanov CHPP-2, Penza CHPP-1, Ulyanovsk CHPP 2, and Samara State District Power Plant.

The program includes an extensive set of activities aimed to refurbish and re-equip the gas facilities of boiler units. These activities will enable to significantly increase reliability of the equipment and its operational safety. Apart from replacement of the gas pipelines, the program provide for the installation of automatic controls and protection systems, the implementation of automated boiler capacity control systems, etc.

"During 2010, IES-Holding intends to implement a number of re-equipment and refurbishment projects which would enable us to improve economic performance of the equipment, as well as increase its operational safety" - says Andrey Vagner, First Vice President and Director of Operations of CJSC IES. Apart from the upgrading of boilers, the Company's other priority development areas include the implementation of low temperature vortex technology for firing solid fuels (peat, coal); upgrading of its turbine generator sets in order to increase capacity, efficiency and cyclic load capability; refurbishment of its chemical water treatment plants in order to reduce pollutants discharge; and enhancement of fire protection activities at its enterprises.
