OREANDA-NEWS. March 24, 2010. The Gazprom headquarters hosted today a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Company’s Management Committee and Leonid Mikhelson, Chairman of NOVATEK Management Committee.

The parties discussed the Comprehensive Development Program for the Yamal Peninsula Fields, which includes the liquefied natural gas (LNG) industry formation based on the Yuzhno-Tambeiskoye field resources.

The draft Program stipulating a set of federal support measures in developing a new gas production center is targeted at obtaining the approval from the Russian Federation Government.

The document was prepared under the supervision of the Russian Federation Prime Minister in compliance with the assignment given at the Salekhard meeting of September 2009.

As part of the Yamal LNG project, the parties came to an agreement on major principles of cooperation and LNG marketing that would raise the investment attractiveness of the project.
