OREANDA-NEWS. April 08, 2010. Since the start of 2010, Freight One’s Rostov branch has hauled 2,820,000 tons, which was nearly 50% higher than the same period of last year.

Coal, gravel, sand and cement hauled in gondolas accounted for the largest proportion at 1,062,000 tons, followed by cement in cement hoppers (692 tons) and petroleum products in tanks (693 tons).

In March alone, the volume of freight hauled increased by nearly 40% over the same period of last year to more than 1.1 million.

In 2010, Freight One’s Rostov branch signed an agreement on the organization of the haulage of fertilizers and sunflower oil for export through Novorossiysk Sea Trading Port OJSC according to a "car-to-ship" scheme. Agreements have been signed on the provision of freight forwarding services in relation to the organization of rail freight transport in the Russian Federation, CIS and Baltic countries, as well as other foreign countries (payment of railway rates).

To ensure that serviceable rolling stock is available for loading, Freight One’s Rostov branch performed capital and depot repairs on more than 1000 cars in the 1st quarter of 2010.
