OREANDA-NEWS. April 08, 2010. UFC Capital released daily market view:

Equity market. On April 6, the Ukrainska SE index climbed by 2.10%. The bulk of that growth in the index took place within the first hour after trading opened. For the remainder of the session, a sideways trend prevailed on the market. Overall on Tuesday, 2,217 deals were sealed on the Ukrainska SE for 60.9 mln hryvnia. Quotations for most shares on the order-driven market enjoyed growth. Bucking that trend were a handful of stocks, including Stakhanov Carriages (SVGZ) -0.04%, Alchevsk Coke (ALKZ) -1.32%, Bogdan Motors (LUAZ) -1.54%, and Luganskteplovoz (LTPL) -1.75%. At the same time, the leader in terms of growth became Interpipe Nizhnedniprovsk Tubes Rolling (NITR), which closed up 10.77%.

Throughout the day, a mild optimism prevailed on most of the European stock exchanges. The RTS index stayed predominantly above zero. Nevertheless, the US Dow Jones opened in the red zone. It is possible that US investors’ pessimism resulted from a statement made by US Fed President Richmond Jeffrey Lark about a probable increase in the discount rate.
