OREANDA-NEWS. April 13, 2010. OMZ Foundry Production, a part of OMZ Group, produces large castings for the Russian shipbuilding companies.

According to the order of OAO Northern Shipyard, the company had manufactured hull castings, including stern bossing and tail posts for the leader ship Admiral Gorshkov commissioned in March 2010. Preparations for the production of similar items for the second frigate of the series, Admiral Kasatonov, are underway.

Following the order made by OAO Admiralty Shipyards, OMZ Foundry is producing a set of castings (overall weight of over 200 tons) for the new polar scientific vessel. Castings of stern posts and tail posts have already been made.

A contract had been signed with OAO TsS Zvezdochka, Severodvinsk, for the delivery of 6 screw propellers of 2.8 m diameter and 6.1 ton weight each. The delivery will be controlled by the Russian Shipping Registry.

OMZ Foundry Production handles the full cycle of steel castings for power engineering, shipbuilding, metallurgical, mining and other industries.
