OREANDA-NEWS. April 15, 2010. Moscow Domodedovo Airport saw growth of physical indicators in March 2010.

March 2010 saw 15 266 flights served in Domodedovo which is an increase by 19,3% in comparison with the same period of the previous year.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport passenger traffic volumes totaled 1 510 514 based on results of March 2010 which is 36,9% more compared to the same month previous year. Preliminary figures speak well for the airport’s highest growth rates in Moscow Aviation Hub for the indicated period.

Cargo traffic in Domodedovo demonstrated growth by 38,6% compared to the same month of the last year rates and reached 12 869 tons.

Domestic passenger traffic growth was recorded and totaled 596 747 which is an increase by 33,7% compared to the same period in 2009.

International passenger traffic in March 2010 increased by 39,0% compared to the same month last year and totaled 913 767 passengers.

Following the results of the first three months 2010 total passenger traffic reached 4 286 707 which is 35,8% more compared to the same period last year.

Domestic passenger traffic in January-March 2010 saw 1 687 718 (an increase of 37,9% compared the same period last year).

Based on January-March results the highest growth rates of passenger traffic volumes was recorded on the following destinations: Saint Petersburg, Ufa, Orenburg, Yekaterinburg, Omsk. Passenger traffic volumes operated along these routes totaled 408,6 thousand travelers which is an increase by 76% versus the same period in 2009.

International passenger traffic in January-March 2010 totaled 2 598 989 demonstrating an increase by 34,5% compared to the same period last year. The highest growth rates were recorded on the following destinations: Hurgada, Sharm el Sheikh, Bangkok, Phuket, Dubai. Passenger traffic along these routes saw a growth of 782 000 which is an increase by 93% compared to 2009.

The number of flights served for the three months of 2010 totaled 43 843 demonstrating an increase by 20,5% compared to the same period in 2009.

Based on results of January-March 2010 the volume of cargo traffic totaled 31 477 tons which is an increase by 29,8% compared to the same period of the previous year.
