OREANDA-NEWS. April 21, 2010. Veloelectron OU, a company belonging to Estonian investors, has worked out test models of electricity-driven rollers and hopes to start selling rollers based on them in Estonia as well as in Denmark and in the Netherlands.

The electric roller is smaller and lighter than the usual roller and one of the sale arguments should be a design different from the ordinary roller.

The roller models worked out by now are of different engine capacity and battery life. The engine of the roller works on a 48 volt battery and a battery of 30 ampere-hours makes it possible to travel 80 kilometers, according to the producer.

The maximum speed of the roller is 45 kilometers per hour, the limit for that type of vehicles.

Jarmo Tuisk, one of the owners of Veloelektron, told reporters that the company was hoping to sell a few hundered rollers already next year.

The Danish and the Dutch markets have been chosen because the green frame of mind is widespread in those countries, there is sufficient purchasing power and an urban enviroment suitable for the roller. Veloelektron has planned the price of the roller at 2,500 euros.

The rollers will be produced by AS Favor, an Estonian metal working company whose main owner, Almar Proos, is one of the owners of Veloelektron.
