OREANDA-NEWS. April 21, 2010. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) received notifications from "Uralkalii" OJSC and "Silvinit" OJSC on setting the price for potassium chloride for Russian manufactures of mineral fertilizers at 4300 Rubles per ton, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The price will not be reconsidered in 2010.

FAS Russia thinks that this price is not monopolistically high and meets the earlier recommendations of the Antimonopoly Service.

Conditions for buying the product, offered by the producers of potassium chloride will facilitate stabilization on the market of complex mineral fertilizers and allow consumers to conclude mutually beneficial contracts at fair prices with producers of the above mineral raw materials, resume production and shipping of fertilizers to agricultural consumers.

Due to stabilization of the situation with mineral raw materials, some undertakings will not change the maximum price level for complex fertilizers in 2010 for Russian agricultural goods.

On 21st December 2009, FAS Russia finalized the case on antimonopoly violation on the market of potassium chloride.

The decision of the FAS Russia's Commission stated that economically justified price for potassium chloride distributed by producers of complex mineral fertilizers in 2009 was the price not exceeding 3755 Rubles per ton (w/o VAT). This price should be indicative for calculating the price for potassium chloride for 2010.

FAS Russia issued determinations to "Uralkalii" OJSC, "Silvinit" OJSC and "Mineral Trading" Ltd. to conclude contracts with consumers of potassium chloride at economically justified prices by 1st February 2010.
