OREANDA-NEWS. May 06, 2010. Freight traffic via the state-run Ilyichevsk (Illichivsk) Commercial Sea Port (ICSP, Ukraine) in January-April 2010 reached 5,784,000 tons, a nearly 2.2% rise over the same period a year earlier. In April the stevedoring company handled 1,402,000 tons of cargo, 3.3% more than in April 2009, the ICSP statement said.

This April the state-owned Company handled volumes of general cargoes increased by 7.1%, of liquid cargoes jumped 127.2%, while bulk cargoes volumes dropped by 21.8%. ISCP’s report for April shows the highest growth rate in meal volume, a 190.9-percent surge, vegetable oil, a 87.8% gain, pig iron (+ 51,1%), ferry cargoes (+48.2%), container volumes increased by 27.7% in tons, and a 8.6% rise in TEUs. The month container trade rose to 20.540 TEUs. This April, the volume of handled autos was level with the results of April, 2009.
