OREANDA-NEWS. May 07, 2010. State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) through its SOCAR Petroleum has opened today in Baku its first three petrol stations under SOCAR brand. The stations were opened in Zikh and airport highways and in Bibi Eybat area.

At the opening ceremony SOCAR president Rovnag Abdullayev stated that before this September they planned opening of 7 more stations.

“Another 10 stations will open in 2011. Network of totally 20 stations will be created,” Abdullayev said.

Company’s investments in petrol station network in Azerbaijan last year will reach 20 million manats. Each filling station provides 60-70 new jobs.

“We consider all the country’s petrol stations as our rivals but we are going to compete precisely by quality of services. Fuel at our petrol stations will be sold at the same tariffs and prices as at the ones of other brands. We already have a range of advantages – a possibility of payment of public utility services, availability of POS-terminals, free tyre swapping, non-contact auto washing not having analogs on the CIS area,” Abdllayev said.

SOCAR filling stations also have Fast Food cafes under SOCAR brand (their operator is company Azburger) and food and automobile goods stores.
