OREANDA-NEWS. May 12, 2010. The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has begun forming a pool of investors for financing development of country’s chemical complex operating in a form of its sub-company Azerikimya.

SOCAR president Rovnag Abdullayev says that they are planning to create an industrial park to compose modular plants of plastics for full processing of raw materials and  semi-products manufactured by Azerikimya’s enterprises.

“We are working in this direction with the Ministry of Economic Development and ready to raise finances from Azerbaijan Investment Company and private companies,” Abdullayev said.

According to the estimate, industrial park (chemical industrial town) will enable to create up to 10,000 jobs for two or three years. A 90-hectare area will be allotted for the town.
