OREANDA-NEWS. May 12, 2010. Freight traffic through state-run Odessa Commercial Sea Port (OCSP, Ukraine) in January-April 2010 was at 9,246.600 tons, 7.35% down from the same period last year, the OCSP provisional data said.

The Company’s report shows a 14.5-percent decrease in dry cargoes, to 4,834.500 tons, and a 2.38-percent drop in liquid cargoes, to 4,412.100 tons.
The Odessa Port four-month statistics show a 66.5-percent surge in containerized cargo volumes (1,180.100 tons), or a 32.7% gain in TEUs, to 96,852 units.

State-owned Odessa Commercial Sea Port is one of the largest ports of the Black Sea-Azov Basin. The OCSP’s facilities allow the stevedore to handle more than 14 million tons of dry cargoes and 14 million tons of oil products annually. Last year’s throughput of the Company dropped by 19% year-over-year, to 28.007 million tons.
