OREANDA-NEWS. May 13, 2010. The International Bank of Azerbaijan has signed an agreement with Nikoil Bank on a possibility of KartTransfer urgent remittances between plastic cards issued by both banks.

IBA press service’s head Rauf Aghayev says that the Bank keeps on developing range of e-banking services and infrastructure.

“One of the most popular services of e-banking is KartTransfer service enabling holders of cards issued by the IBA to carry out urgent money transfers form card to card.

These days Nikoil Bank has joined the banks whose customers are able to conduct such transfers. Thus, infrastructure of KartTransfer service is now numbering nine banks among which are IBA-Moscow, AtaBank, Bank Respublika, Bank of Azerbaijan, Rabitabank, AGBank, and Bank Standard. KartTransfer service enjoys on-growing popularity. For instance, 3.7 million transfers KartTransfer for AZN 2.1 million were carried out in the first quarter of 2009 and the figures reached 5.1 million and AZN 2.4 million in the fourth quarter. Totally 17.3 million transfers for AZN 8.9 million were carried out last year. For comparison, in 2008 the indicators made up 8.5 million remittances for AZN 4.1 million,” Aghayev commented.

IBA’s e-banking services include a on-analogous service on payment of air-tickets by all means of distance service – cash machines, information kiosk, mobile phone, Internet Banking system. Customers of thre IBA and company SilkWay Travel were created such an opportunity. Besides, the list of services accessible in e-banking system composes payment of services of cellular operators Azercell, Bakcell and NAR Mobile and power supplier Bakielektrikshebeke, Internet providers Elcell, Azeronline and Adanet and company Aztelecom.

“Positive tendency of growth in the area of e-payments and remittances has kept for the last 3-4 years. For instance, it was conducted 243,800 operations for AZN 4.88 million in 2007 and in 2008 quantity of all operations reached 366,300 (rise of 33.4%), and their overall amount AZN 7.97 million (rise of 38.8%). Positive dynamics kept in 2009 as well: 498,700 operations for AZN 13.6 million. In the first quarter of 2010 number of operations exceeded 117,000, and overall sum AZN 2.7 million,” Aghayev said.
