OREANDA-NEWS. May 14, 2010. The SOLLERS-Far East factory launched production of the SsangYong Actyon Sports, a new Korean off-roader model with a pickup bodyshell. This model will be produced in Russia for the first time and will also be the first foreign pickup to be localized in Russia.

The start of new production was made in the presence of Viktor Khristenko, the Russian Minister of Industry and Trade; Sergei Darkin, the governor of Primorsky Krai, and Vadim Shvetsov, the CEO of OAO SOLLERS.

By year's end, approximately 1,200 pickup-type off-roaders will roll off the assembly line at SOLLERS-Far East. This vehicle will also be the most affordable one in the lineup of off-roaders produced at the Vladivostok factory. Prices for the SsangYong Actyon Sports start at 620,000 rubles.

The assembly of other models at the factory had already been started previously, with the Kyron and Actyon models.

“The Actyon Sports model is the third product debut to begin production at SOLLERS-Far East since the factory became operational,” noted Vadim Shvetsov, CEO of OAO SOLLERS. “Thus we are keeping up the exceptional pace which we set when we built these works. This year we plan to launch production of at least two more models. This means that our clients in the Far East and all around Russia will be able to choose a high-quality, affordable off-road vehicle from our wide product lineup.”
