OREANDA-NEWS. May 14, 2010. According to preliminary estimates, the operations of EuroSibEnergo JSC produced 23.71 TWh of electricity in Q1 2010, up 13% compared to the same period in 2009, of which the Krasnoyarsk, Bratsk, Ust-Ilimsk and Irkutsk HPPs produced 17.83 TWh (up 13% compared to the same period in 2009), and the thermal power plants produced 5.88 TWh (up 14%).

The heat production of EuroSibEnergo JSC's CHPs totaled 12.57 mln Gcal in Q1 2010, up 12% compared to Q1 2009.

The coal production at the company's open pit mines amounted to 3.78 mln tons, up 21% compared to the same period in 2009.

Increased electricity demand from manufacturers provided an opportunity for strong growth in the electricity and heat production by EuroSibEnergo JSC, other reasons being the abnormally low temperatures in January-March 2010 in the company's locations, as well as the favourable operation regimes of the Angara-Enisey cascade of hydropower plants.

The IFRS consolidated revenue of EuroSibEnergo JSC for Q1 2010 is forecast to exceed RUR26 bn (USD 0.88 bn)*.

In Q1 2010, EuroSibEnergo JSC invested more than RUR1.7 bn (USD 57 mln) in its current modernization projects. The key ones are as follows:

Reconstruction of the 10th hydroelectric generator at the Krasnoyarsk HPP;

Replacement of hydroelectric generator runners at the Bratsk HPP;

Reconstruction of thermal power grids in the Irkutsk region;

Design and engineering of a gas-fed mini thermal power plant in Bratsk;

Design and engineering of a gas distribution unit at the Avtozavodskaya CHP in Nizhny Novgorod.
