OREANDA-NEWS. May 18, 2010. Belarus’ imports of hard drinks and wine decreased in January-March 2010 compared to the first quarter of 2009, according to preliminary customs statistics.

Imports of hard drinks decreased 27.3% on the year in the first quarter to 61,678 decaliters worth USD 3.646 million, down 25%.

Imports of hard drinks from Georgia rose 9.6% to 23,562 decaliters worth USD 1.062 million, down 14.2%, and from Moldova rose 10.7% to 21,921 decaliters worth USD 1.191 million, up 15%.

Imports from Ukraine fell 82.2% to USD 232,900, from Armenia fell 44.1% to USD 308,500, from the UK rose 180% to USD 217,600.

Imports of grape wines, including fortified wines fell 25.6% on the year in the period to 812,626 decaliters worth USD 7.699 million, down 37.5%.

Imports from Moldova amounted to 695,217 decaliters, down 28.8%, worth USD 6.243 million, down 37.8% in monetary terms. Imports from Ukraine edged down 1.8% to 57,031 decaliters to the amount of USD 415,200, down 22.7%.
