OREANDA-NEWS. May 24, 2010. The substation will generate electric power for a modern wood-processing plant. The rebuilding costs for 2010 will amount to RUR 2.8 mln.

The branch of IDGC of the North-West JSC “Vologdaenergo” has partially reconstructed a 35 kV outdoor switchgear (OSG) at 110/35/10 kV substation “Vostochnaya” in Vytegra (the Vologda Region). In the current year the grid company's expenses on outfitting and upgrading of electrical facilities will amount to RUR 2.8 mln.

The expansion of 110/35/10 kV substation “Vostochnaya” has been implemented due to the technological connection of the modern wood-sawing and processing mill “LDK-2” to the grid of “Vologdaenergo”. As the result of rebuilding, the grid company will be able to provide the consumer with the required capacity 4 MW.

The substation rebuilding work involved installation of 35 kV bus arrangement for 1 bus section, installation of a 35 kV cubicle with a SF6 circuit breaker, and of 35 kV remote current transformers. Apart from the above, the facility has been fitted up with relay protection and emergency controls and energy accounting system integrated into the existing Automatic System for Commercial Accounting of Power Consumption.

Pre-commissioning and high-voltage testing at 110/35/10 kV substation “Vostochnaya” have been completed to date. The power equipment is now ready for operation. The plant that is deemed to be the priority investment project in wood development is scheduled for start-up in June 2010.
