OREANDA-NEWS. May 28, 2010. The works on overall reconstruction of Unit 1, Zuevskaya TPP (Vostokenergo LLC) are successfully finished. The signing of the commissioning act.
 
Within the reconstruction the turbine, the boiler and the electric equipment of Unit 1, Zuevskaya TPP were modernized and full-featured DCS installed. Active part in the project implementation took Siemens Group, Siemens Ukraine Company and Interavtomatika CJSC.
 
Siemens’s sphere of responsibility included supply, commissioning and start-up of software and hardware complex SPPA-T3000, as well as the development and realization of all Unit equipment control algorithms, including controllers, incremental programmes, ABP, blocking and protection systems. Despite the scale and difficulty of the project, the reconstruction was completed ahead of tight working schedule.
 
“This is the first project of the kind, which was successfully implemented in Ukraine”, said the CEO of Siemens Ukraine Maximilian Egger. “The SPPA-T3000 system provides a high level of automation and enabled the plant to switch from the analogue unit control system which was used in the last century to the up-to-date distributed control system”
 
According to Gennadiy Turanov, the General Director of Vostokenergo LLC, after the reconstruction the installed capacity of Unit 1, Zuevskaya TPP has risen from 300MW to 320MW and the flexibility range has increased from 135MW to 170MW. Moreover, the specific equivalent fuel consumption has decreased from 364 g/kWh to 342 g/kWh and the efficiency coefficient has risen from 33.8% to 36%.
 
The total cost of works amounted to UAH183.7m.
 
“The Unit 1, Zuevskaya TPP reconstruction is a part of a large-scale modernization programme of all the Vostokenergo’s TPPs, which will continue to 2016 with total cost of USD900m”, said the COO of DTEK LLC Yuriy Ryzhenkov. “These funds will be used to modernize units of three TPPs of Vostokenergo: Kurahovskaya, Luganskaya and Zuevskaya. In the near future we are planning to begin the modernization of OJSC Dneproenergo generating capacities.
