OREANDA-NEWS. June 08, 2010. An exhibition titled Treasures of the Ottoman Sultans showing a world-famous collection of the Topkapi Palace Museum located in Istanbul was opened yesterday at the Moscow Kremlin Museums with OAO LUKOIL support.

For the first time Muscovites and guests of the capital will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the unique heritage of the Ottoman Empire. The exhibition comprises more than one hundred exhibits belonging to the golden age of the Empire in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, such as attributes of power, ancient ceremonial and military weapons, manuscripts, miniatures, samples of Arab calligraphy, rich garments of the sultans and their wives and children, and other articles representative of the traditions and history of the epoch. 

In recent years the company helped the Moscow Kremlin museums organize several exhibitions, including Russian Coat of Arms. 500 years (1997), Christie and LUKOIL in Moscow (1997), Siberian Relics (2000), German Silver Masterpieces in Kremlin (2002), Russia and Britain: 450 Years of Diplomatic Relations (2003), Ambassadors’ Gifts to the Russian Tsars (2005), Great Britain and Moscow: English Silverware at the Tsar Court, (London, 2006),  Tsars and the East: Gifts from Turkey and Iran from the Collection of the Moscow Kremlin Museums (Washington, 2009).

In 2004, LUKOIL and the Moscow Kremlin Museums began a joint program related to the organization of travelling exhibitions in Russia’s regions. Such exhibitions were organized in 2004-2008 in Perm, Nizhny Novgorod and Volgograd.
