OREANDA-NEWS. June 08, 2010. The proposals of Bateman International Projects meet the requirement of the tender on the feasibility evaluation of technological process scheme with the purpose of Udokan copper deposit development the best.

The specialists of Baikal mining company and Mikhailovsky GOK together with the world prominent and credible Russian experts in production and processing of minerals came to this conclusion having analyzed the submitted for the tender proposals. They agreed that Bateman has worked out the most detailed and thoroughly investigated scheme.

Thus Bateman is entrusted to make a feasibility evaluation of technological process scheme with the purpose of Udokan copper deposit development. Currently contracting procedures for technical and economic assessment works and pilot testing started. “While performing calculations we will take into consideration the best technological concepts proposed be the participants of the tender. The special attention will be paid to the technological solutions of such companies as ENGINEERING DOBERSEK, GINTSVETMET FSUE and OUTOTEC”, said Andrey Varichev, the General Director of Baikal Mining Company.

14 companies applied for the tender and according to the tender commission decision 7 of them continued participation as their bids were more compliant with the announced tender requirements. Namely: ОАО VNIPIpromtechnologii, OAO VNIIHT; GIPROTSVETMET FSUE; ENGINEERING DOBERSEK, GLENCORE, GINTSVETMET FSUE; Bateman International Projects; ООО GIPRONICKEL Institute; ZAO MEHANOBR ENGINEERING; ООО PiterGORproject and OUTOTEC.

Their proposals were reviewed by the following world famous experts: Valentin Aleksevich Chanturia, an academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences , Doctor of Engineering Science, the director of the Institute of Problems of Subsurface Comprehensive Development (IPSCD, Moscow); Kliment Nikolaevih Trubetskoy, an academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Engineering Science, an adviser of the Institute of Problems of Subsurface Comprehensive Development (IPSCD, Moscow); Dmitry Viktorovich Livanov, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, professor, the rector of the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys.
