OREANDA-NEWS. June 21, 2010. Within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2010 Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Management Committee of Gazprom and Marcel Kramer, Chairman of the Executive Board, CEO of Gasunie signed an Agreement on strategic cooperation with Foundation Project Delta Group in the presence of Viktor Zubkov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Gazprom Board of Directors and Maria van der Hoeven, Minister of Economic Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

The Agreement provides for cooperation between the companies in the energy sector, including gas production, transportation, underground storage and processing. Moreover, in accordance with the document, the parties will continue cooperation in the field of energy efficiency, LNG, non-conventional gas, environmental protection, sci-tech cooperation, etc.

The meeting participants noted the high potential for cooperation on development and creation of the infrastructure for hydrocarbon fields in the Arctic shelf of the Russian Federation.

For successful implementation of the Agreement, the parties agreed to establish a joint steering committee to coordinate top-priority areas of interaction.

“Signing the Agreement will open new horizons for large-scale projects implementation using our accumulated experience and innovative technology,” said Alexey Miller.
Background

Foundation Project Delta Group is an open partnership of Dutch companies and scientific institutions directly cooperating with the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Confederation of Netherlands Industry and Employers. The Group has been set up for the purpose of promoting long-term cooperation between Russia and the Netherlands to secure sustainable production, transportation and delivery of energy carriers.
