OREANDA-NEWS. June 22, 2010. In the course of the 14th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, State Corporation “Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank)’ and OJSC Holding MRSK signed a Memorandum on Cooperation.

On behalf of Vnesheconombank the Memorandum was signed by Vnesheconombank Chairman Vladimir Dmitriev and on behalf of OJSC Holding MRSK by its General Director Nikolai Shvets.

Under the Memorandum the parties intend to expand all-round cooperation in implementing investment projects aimed at enhancing energy efficiency of electric grid infrastructure and at ensuring maximally reliable power supply of consumers, reducing failure rates and electric power losses in distribution power grids through renovating (upgrading) power grid equipment. The parties believe that achieving the said objectives would enhance energy security and remove infrastructure limitations to Russia’s economic development.

As a result of the said renovation, power grid equipment deterioration would fall from 69% to 48%, electric power losses – from 8.68% to 4.81%, the number technological malfunctions and equipment failures would be halved.
