OREANDA-NEWS. June 22, 2010. Cooperation agreement with Green Planet All-Russia social movement will start ecology activity of information centers of the nuclear industry

On the eve of the World Environment Day which is celebrated in Russia as the Environmental Specialist’s Day, Nuclear Industry Information Center Autonomous Non-Commercial Organization and “Green Planet” All-Russia social children’s ecology movement signed a Cooperation Agreement

The main goal of the agreement is to nurture objective perception of the nuclear power by children and teenagers as well as their ecology culture and intelligence through joint implementation of educational, instructional and cultural projects.

“We are going to start organization and holding of exhibitions, educational programs, conferences, lectures, seminars, round tables in summer of 2010”, underlined Marina Medvedeva, Chairman of Green Planet Management.

Thus, the following agreements were achieved: to organize a series of subject mobile exhibitions of works made by the winners and laureates of “Green Planet” international creative contests in the information centers of the nuclear industry, to conduct a series of round tables by the information centers with participation of directors of Rosatom State Corporation enterprises, “Green Planet” social movement, teachers, journalists of the regions, and to prepare for publishing of the Nuclear social ecology vocabulary for teachers.

“We have a good understanding of each other because we see our work as motivation of the pupils and teenagers to receive technical and natural science education and nurturing of the need for evaluation of the modern technologies in terms of their environmental safety”, Aleksandr Khavanov, General Director of Nuclear Industry Information Center Autonomous Non-Commercial Organization, said.

“Green Planet” donated to Kurchatov library the last publications issued by six information centers: Nurturing of teenagers’ ecology culture (From work experience of the Russian regions), Look, Think, Do (Work book for elementary school), Reference material for young environmental specialists, Living alphabet, and other, 10 publications all in all.

“Green Planet” all-Russia social children’s ecology movement unites more than one and a half million of people, more than seven thousand of children’s organizations of Russia in 74 constituents of the Federation.

The information centers of the nuclear industry in five Russian cities welcome hundreds of Russian pupils every day. On June 11, a new information center will be opened in Murmansk onboard of the Lenin nuclear-powered ice-breaker.
