OREANDA-NEWS. July 01, 2010. Freight One has posted an increase in cement haulage on the Far Eastern Railway. A total of 36,000 tons of cement were hauled in Freight One cars in May, an increase of 88% over April and 29% over May of last year.

Freight One’s Vladivostok branch, working on the Far Eastern Railway network, loaded more than 86,000 tons of cement in the first five months of the year.

The main shippers were Vostoktsement, a major industrial company in the Far East that makes construction materials, and DV Cement LLC.

"The increase in cement haulage was due to both seasonal factors and an increase in demand for cement from construction companies emerging from the crisis," said Viktor Osipov, Director of Freight One’s Vladivostok branch. "There are enough Freight One cement cars to meet the current demand on the Far Eastern Railway network".
