Strategically important step was made by heads of two biggest shipbuilding plants of Russia and Ukraine. Director General of JSCo "PO "Sevmash" and head of Chernomorsk Shipbuilding Factory Dmitry Mordovenko signed cooperation agreement.

As executives of Sevmash and Chernomorsk Shipbuilding Factory admit, time for shipbuilding connection reactivation has come. Our plants have many areas of common interest. One of the most important is repair and reequipment of the aircraft-carrier "Vicramaditya". In 1982 this ship which used to be called aircraft carrier "Baku" than, and "Admiral Gorshkov" later, was built at Chernomorsk Shipbuilding Factory. Now the ship goes through a new birth being reequipped and repaired at Sevmash. Furthermore, the sides see cooperation outlook in another direction.

As Alexey Petrin, head of shipbuilding holding company which includes Chernomorsk Factory, said earlier, Ukrainian shipbuilders are ready to strain every sinew to organize mutually rewarding cooperation in the field of surface shipbuilding, oil and gas and other mutually beneficial projects. "I am sure that our cooperation will become a starting point for renewing of close friendly relations between shipbuilders of Russia and Ukraine, and revival of former potential of our plants as well", - he said.

It should be reminded that in April Sevmash delegation headed by Director General Nikolay Kalistratov visited Chernomorsk Factory at the city of Nikolaev. Specialists from Ukranian factory headed by executive of the plant D. Mordovenko are expected to return a visit on the eve of Victory Day.
