OREANDA-NEWS. July 21, 2010. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made a working trip around Ashgabat and its vicinities to see the progress in implementing the large-scale construction projects and the urban development and planting programmes. The trip was made at the request of Vice Premier D. Orazov, who is in charge of the construction sector.

During the trip the Turkmen leader visited the construction sites of the facilities that would adorn the white-marble Turkmen capital and become a ‘business card’ of the Turkmen state that moved forward in the epoch of fundamental reforms.

Receiving the report on the fulfillment of the instructions, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov put emphasis on the importance of beautifying further and maintaining clearness in the capital, in particular fountains and parks that adorned the city and instructed to keep strict control of these issues.

During the trip the Turkmen leader visited the Baghir water storage reservoir, the large artificial water body built in the framework of the water resource management programme. As is known, these issues as the key aspects of the agricultural reform in Turkmenistan were the focus of the meeting of the Elders’ Council, which took place in Dashoguz this spring.

This facility and mud stream reservoir will ensure more effective use of water resources and mitigate possible landslide hazards.
