OREANDA-NEWS. July 21, 2010. In November, 2010 Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC intends to issue tenders for modernization of Novovoronezh and Smolensk NPPs power units in which Ukrainian OJSC “Turboatom” may take part

According to Turboatom, the company will soon take part in the tenders for power units modernization of Balakovo NPP, Kalinin NPP and other Russian nuclear power plants.

In July, 2010 Turboatom OJSC has concluded a contract of capacitor delivery for the third power unit of Rostov NPP currently under construction. Equipment delivery term is May, 2011.

Under the terms of the contract Turboatom shall deliver the capacitor with cooling tubes made of titanium alloys for 1 GW turbine. Titanium will be used for capacitor production for the first time, earlier the plant produced equipment made of copper-nickel alloys and stainless steels. The tubes for channels will be collected, beaded and scalded at the enterprise and supplied to the mounting area of the plant in block-modular form.

Besides, Turboatom has undertaken to produce equipment in accordance with present normative standards of the Russian nuclear power industry. Within the framework of the contract control and equipment quality assurance program has been drawn up enabling the customer (Rosenergoatom Concern) to effect the appropriate control at all stages of capacitor production. By now fitting-out has been completed, samples for fine-tuning technologies have been purchased and the project fully implemented.
