OREANDA-NEWS. July 21, 2010. United TeleSystems (COMSTAR-UTS, LSE: CMST), the leading provider of integrated telecom services in Russia and the CIS, announces a new service called STREAM.Videos. Now, you can watch Internet videos on a TV screen as part of STREAM TV.

STREAM.Videos is available to STREAM TV subscribers in Moscow  through a TV menu that can be displayed with a corresponding button on a remote control.

“This is a revolution in the pay TV world as we bring private movies from the Internet to the TV screens. With STREAM.Videos our subscribers can get access to one of the today’s largest archives of personal videos and they can view both programs and films produced by professionals and clips made by millions of users all over the world that are not available anywhere else yet. Such services can be launched based on interactive TV, i.e. IPTV platform only. Actually, we’ve made it possible for our subscribers to create their own personal TV,” Maxim Chernov, Marketing Director of COMSTAR-UTS, says.

STREAM.Videos menu provides search by categories (Top Rated, Most Viewed, Top Favorite, Most Recent, etc.) under which videos are additionally split up by time (by day, week, month, etc.). STREAM.Videos cost is included in a STREAM TV monthly fee that remains the same.

Previously, COMSTAR has launched interactive services Picture-in-Picture and STREAM.Photo (see here). Today, STREAM TV provides over 100 thematic channels. Besides, the interface menu integrates such information services as STREAM.CurrencyRates, STREAM.Weather and STREAM.Route from Yandex.TrafficJams. There is also a time-shift feature and an opportunity to order popular movies at an attractive price with "Video-on-Demand". All services are available by pressing a single button on a remote control.
