OREANDA-NEWS. July 22, 2010. The Prime Minister of Ukraine requested the leaders of the agricultural unit of the Government to mobilize efforts to provide maximum support to agricultural producers during the harvest period. The Head of the Government said this today at a meeting of the Government.

According to him, the harvest campaign is tense because of the weather, but quite manageable. Mykola Azarov noted that the situation requires the concentration of all organizational and technical resources, very accurate, rapid technology and people manoeuvre, because in some regions and localities yield is rescued from the heat, in some - from sudden downpours.

The Prime Minister is confident that the Ministry of Agrarian Policy will cope with the situation where work is organized quickly, continuously. "However, we understand the complexity of the situation and strongly support the farmers to avoid significant losses during harvesting and agricultural producers loss", emphasized Mykola Azarov.

"So, dear Viktor Slauta and Mykola Prysyazhnyuk! I instruct you to make immediately a proposal what else could be done organizationally, financially to save the yield maximum and to support farmers", said the Head of the Government.

As Prime Minister said, because of the difficult weather, crop quality is not satisfactory, so leaders of the agrarian unit in the Government should develop measures to maximize the collection of food grains, create its sufficient state stocks. According to the Head of the Government, coarse grains should be used primarily in the domestic market: to increase livestock and eliminate the deficit of domestic meat production.
