OREANDA-NEWS. July 23, 2010. The exhibition “Traditions and culture of Japan” will be opened in Gavriil Vashchenko’s Picture Gallery of Gomel on 11 August.

The exhibition is arranged by the Embassy of Japan in Belarus and testifies to the growing friendly ties between the Belarusian and Japanese nations. It will give Gomel residents an opportunity to get familiar with traditions and culture of the Country of the Rising Sun.

The exhibition will showcase household and cultural articles. Those will include dioramas of UNESCO World Legacy objects in Japan (miniatures of castles and temples, sets of dolls, kites, Japanese masks). Visitors will be also to see miniatures of children’s holidays, sets of dummy Japanese kitchenware used for tea ceremonies, apparel, DVDs containing information about Japan.

The exhibition will stay open till 12 September.
