OREANDA-NEWS. July 28, 2010. The Ministry of Labour & Social Protection of Azerbaijan has summed up the results of four-year application of targeted social assistance (TSA).

At today’s press conference in Baku Natig Gasimov, the head of the Ministry’s Department on Issues of Poverty & TSA Policy, has informed that the Labour Ministry decided to apply a decision to use joint social assistance principles applied successfully in other countries.

"With this goal since 2011 it is planned to sign social contracts with each of the low-income families to receive TSA. That will create conditions for the provision of social services to poor families and more efficient allocation of resources as the contract will outline the commitments of both parties – both the state and the family,” Gasimov said.

In his view, the factors affecting poverty of people will be removed in a way of innovations in the process of TSA giving, including the creation of conditions for self-sufficiency of needy families.
