OREANDA-NEWS. August 4, 2010. Anton Kolpakov has been appointed first deputy general director of Rostelecom.  In this position, he will be in charge of the entire commercial unit of the merged company, including relations with operators and customer service, as well as developing new products and services.

The main duties assigned to Mr. Kolpakov will include developing new areas of business at Rostelecom as well as forming a single commercial unit for the merged company.

Anton Kolpakov was born on April 30, 1971 in Leningrad.  He graduated from the Saint Petersburg Aeronautic Instrument Building Academy.

From 1998 until 2001 Mr. Kolpakov worked as regional sales manager for PeterStar, and from 2001 until 2004 as business development and market research manager, deputy commercial director of special projects, deputy general director and commercial director of Peterburg Transit Telecom.

In 2005 he worked as advisor to the general director, deputy general director and head of business development at Far East Telecom.  In 2007 Mr. Kolpakov was appointed as general director of Far East Telecom.

From 2009 until the beginning of the merger of Rostelecom with the regional telecommunications operators (RTOs) of Syyazinvest Mr. Kolpakov acted as the general director of Rostelecom.
