OREANDA-NEWS. August 6, 2010. Belarus’ consumer inflation may remain within 10% in 2010, Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky said during a session of the Council of Ministers.

“Inflation reached 4.1% in the first six months, 1.8 times below the same period of 2009. We have all prerequisites to finish the year within 10%,” the premier said.

He also said in the first half of the year most of the growth parameters had been reached. Sidorsky reminded that GDP grew 6.6% in January-June, whereas the forecast had been at 6%. Industrial production expanded 8.8%, with the original forecast of 6.2%.

“We have been growing from month to month, and the first half was clearly a success,” he said.
