OREANDA-NEWS. August 6, 2010. Belarus’ woodworking, paper and pulp-making companies’ output last year increased 12.3% on the year in January-June 2009 to 1.943 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br), an official with the National Statistics Committee told.

Commercial timber procurement rose 5.7% to 1.084 million solid cubic meters, wood veneer output rose 21.4% to 87,500 cubic meters, and sawn lumber production increased 6.8% to 474,500 cubic meters.

Fiberboard output rose 7.5% year-on-year to 18.3 million equivalent square meters, and chip wood board production went up 9.5% to 156,900 equivalent cubic meters.

Furniture output increased 13.1% to 715.6 billion rubles in monetary terms.

Inventories of woodworking, paper and pulp-making companies amounted to 293.8 billion rubles on July 1, 2010.
