OREANDA-NEWS. August 6, 2010.  A contract to supply equipment for renovating power unit 4 at Ramin TPP was signed with an Iranian national company, Ahwaz Power Generation Management Co. (Ramin Power Plant). Under the contract, Power Machines will manufacture and supply power equipment for renovating the 300 MW steam turbine LP cylinder flow path, part of the TPP's power unit 4. Equipment supplies are scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2011.

The Iranian TPP and the power engineering group from Saint Petersburg have enjoyed many years of cooperation. Thus, between 1976 and 1993 Power Machines manufactured and supplied six TBB-320 hydrogen and water cooled turbine generators, 320 MW each, and six steam turbines, with a total capacity of 1800 MW, with condensers for Ramin TPP, then under construction.

Ramin TPP is located on the bank of the Ahwaz River, 50 km from the Persian Gulf, in the town of Ahwaz, South Western Iran. The TPP has an installed capacity of 1800 MW. The construction of Ramin TPP started in the mid-1970s pursuant to a Soviet-Iranian intergovernmental agreement. Due to the Iran-Iraq War, however, it interrupted from time to time, and the last, i.e. sixth, power unit was installed under the supervision of Power Machines' engineers in 2002 only.
