OREANDA-NEWS. August 26, 2010. Belarus’ industrial output went up 9.6% on the year in January-July to 86.324 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br), an official with the National Statistics Committee told.

Engineering and metalworking companies’ output increased 10% on the year in the period to 16.298 trillion rubles. The output of fuel companies shrank 23.8% on the year in January-July to 14.753 trillion rubles.

Chemical and petrochemical companies’ production increased 19.4% to 9.431 trillion rubles, and ferrous metallurgy companies’ output increased 11% to 3.164 trillion rubles. Electrical power companies’ output increased 12.2% on the year to 6.09 trillion rubles.

Construction materials companies’ output increased 8.4% on the year to 3.342 trillion rubles, and woodworking and pulp-and-paper companies’ production amounted to 2.289 trillion rubles, up 13.3% on the year in January-July.

Belarus’ light industry output was up 11.2% to 2.739 trillion rubles, and food industry’s output went up 8.9% to 13.429 trillion rubles.

Return on sales amounted to 10.2% in January-June 2010, up from 9.5% in January-June 2009.

There were 300 loss-making manufacturers in the period, 14.9% of the total number, with net losses estimated at 398.147 billion rubles, down 33.6%.

Net profit of Belarus’ industrial companies rose 90% on the year to 3.472 trillion rubles in effective prices in January-June 2010 with producer price index (PPI) rising 10.1% in the period.
